Take the Statehood Movement Seriously

To the Editor of The Sol,
Your recent article regarding the Polaris Statehood Movement painted us as fools, fighting for something that would be impossible to accomplish.
You talk too much about our small size, and not about what we stand for.
We stand against tyranny, and “tyrannical” is the perfect way to describe our government.
We have no say in our laws, or how we are governed, or how we are taxed.
Our government fails to respect our privacy, searching our homes without warrants in the name of catching a “mass-burglar” that somehow broke into over a dozen airlocks.
You know what that sounds like?
An excuse to surveil us.
We can no longer take it.
I implore you, not only the Editor of The Sol but also anyone reading this, take us seriously.
Your rights are in danger without true representation.
